One Room Challenge : Week 3 “The Panic Stage”

Sorry for the silence this week but my little one has been sick, which means I’ve been a very busy mom! This also means that I obviously ran out of time and a few things have been delayed in the project. I really can’t believe this is already the third week of the One Room Challenge!!! We are now half way and there is still SO MUCH to do… So yes, this is the time to start panicking! And in case you missed the previous posts, you can catch up here with Week 1 and Week 2.
As planned, I went to Brussels last weekend to check the progress of work but I had to shorten my stay to look after my daughter. So this week I was supposed to share prettier things, like inspiring colours, a beautiful moodboard with furniture and gorgeous decorative objects, you know all those things we love and expect from a room makeover. But honestly, this is not going to happen today because I guess you can’t be really inspired when you are cleaning vomit (#momslife!) We only have 3 weeks left and I still don’t know which paint colour we’re going to use on the walls and I still have a lot of items to find like the sofa bed! I noticed that it’s always difficult to find a sofa bed that is both functional and beautiful. Well, let me tell you it’s even harder when you have a small space! I am almost desperate to find something “not too bad” for this room. All the sofa beds I found were always too big or too ugly or too expensive or with a 7 to 8 weeks delivery frame and sometimes even more. So as I said before, I am in the middle of the panic stage!
Anyway, let’s have a look at the little progress we made since last time.

Good : No more wall tiles in the kitchen and the plastering is done!
Bad : No mouldings yet.

Good : All the tiles in the bathroom are gone and the shower base has been enlarged. Plastering is done too.
Bad : the new terrazzo tiles we chose are 16mm thick, so MUCH thicker than the new kitchen floor. So to have both floors even, we need to remove the existing floor tiles of the bathroom too, which means more work here!

So as I said we literally made a “little” progress this week and as you can see there is still a lot to do! I will probably have go to Brussels again this weekend to catch up with the schedule and I really hope to be back with more inspiring things… In the meantime, don’t forget to have a look at the other projects of the ORC and the ORC Guest Participants.
